ISO 20000-1 User Survey
ISO/IEC 20000-1 is a service management system (SMS) standard specifying requirements for a service provider to plan, establish, implement, operate, monitor, review, maintain and improve an SMS. While most frequently focused on by IT Service providers, it can be applied to any organization involved in the design, transition, delivery and improvement of services to fulfill agreed service requirements.
ISO/IEC 20000-1 can be used by:
-
an organization seeking services from service providers and requiring assurance that their service requirements will be fulfilled;
-
an organization that requires a consistent approach by all its service providers, including those in a supply chain;
-
a service provider that intends to demonstrate its capability for the design, transition, delivery and improvement of services that fulfil service requirements;
-
a service provider to monitor, measure and review its service management processes and services;
-
a service provider to improve the design, transition, delivery and improvement of services through the effective implementation and operation of the SMS;
-
an assessor or auditor as the criteria for a conformity assessment of a service provider's SMS to the requirements in ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011.
NQA would like to invite you to participate in the online ISO/IEC 20000-1 user survey facilitated by itSMF and ISO. This is your opportunity to provide input and offer feedback as they consider making changes to the standard. If you’re currently registered, or are considering registration to this standard, we encourage you to be a voice in the important process. If you have any questions about registration to ISO/IEC 20000-1.
Here is the information for the survey from the itSMF and ISO:
itSMF USA's Board is engaged in the official ISO/IEC process of revising the 20000 standards.
Input from the membership is key a component of our participation!
ISO/IEC 20000-1 is in its review cycle and there is an online survey available NOW for folks who have used, are using, or are considering its use to state their opinion on content and improvements. While no close date has been stated, this survey will ONLY BE AVAILABLE for the next couple of weeks (again, no official close date) as the information is necessary for the Plenary meeting in mid-May.
The survey is straightforward and hopefully something you are willing to invest 10-15 minutes. If you have colleagues who also might be interested in influencing the next version of 20K, please pass the URL forward. The more information we can gather, the better we can address the needs of the 20K community...
We thank each of you for your consideration and if you are receiving this information from more than once source, apologies (but think of it this way – you have great input and we want your opinion!!!) – the study group is trying to get the greatest participation possible.
