Important Information Regarding ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Audits

02 November 2017
All ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 audits completed on or after the 15th March 2018 must be conducted against the 2015 standards.

With the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 transition deadline approximately 10 months away, the IAF (the global association for developing the principles and practices for the conduct of conformity assessment) has issued a statement declaring that all ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 audits completed on or after the 15th March 2018 must be conducted against the 2015 standards.

This means that any audit scheduled and completed by an Accredited Certification Body (such as NQA), after this date, will be completed against ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. This includes initial audits, scope extension audits, site extension audits, surveillance audits and recertification audits.

The deadline of the 15th March 2018 is exactly 6 months prior to the final transition deadline for the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System Standards. Any organization that has not successfully completed the transition to ISO 9001:2015 and/or ISO 14001:2015 by the 15th September will no longer have a valid certificate.
