These Regulations amend the Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme Regulations 2011 and Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme Regulations 2014 to introduce a number of amendments applying to both schemes or that apply to each scheme separately.
The amendments made are in relation to:
- Change from Retail Price Index (RPI) to Consumer Price Index (CPI)
- Degression Triggers
- Changes to the land criteria requirements
- Clarification of Microgeneration Certification Scheme equivalence
- Tariff rounding to two decimal places
- Solar thermal collectors new at first commissioning
- Ability for Ofgem to request a new EPC and amend RHI payments
- Green Deal Assessment
- Exemption for eligible new build properties from the 183 days occupancy requirement
- Biogas deemed to meet sustainability criteria
