Waste Management (Food Waste) Regulations 2024

Amends/Commences: Waste Management (Food Waste) Regulations 2009

Comes into force: 1st July 2024

Jurisdiction: Republic of Ireland

Commercial premises are required to segregate their food waste from other types of waste (such as general waste and dry recyclables). Bio-waste must be separated and recycled at source, or collected separately from other types of waste.

The requirements apply to all commercial premises, except those specifically exempt under the Regulations, such as mobile food outlets located off-premises.
