#SaluteOurForces
Wednesday 27th June 2018, marks Reserves Day in the UK. Reserves Day is an opportunity for us all to recognise and celebrate the important part that reservists play in supporting the UK’s defence capability, making a valuable contribution to the nation over and above their day jobs.
The Reserve Forces
The Reserves have always played an essential role in our Armed Forces and, through their dedication and professionalism, they make a vital contribution to protecting the nation’s security at home and overseas. For those of you that don’t know, Reservists give up their spare time to serve in the Reserve Forces, balancing their civilian life with a military career.
Reservists play a central role alongside Regulars to meet Defence requirements, particularly providing capability in specialist areas such as medical and cyber. Reserve units are increasingly paired with and train alongside Regular units and, when required, may deploy on operations with them. Reservists now have access to the same equipment and technology as Regulars and receive high-quality, challenging training, including more opportunities to train overseas.
Employer Recognition Scheme
NQA received the Bronze Award in the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme during 2017. Since then we have been busy working towards the Silver Award to ensure that we make the most out of the opportunity to be a supporting employer to the Armed Forces Community. NQA currently employs a number of military veterans, and throughout 2018 we have continued to push the recruitment and support of these veterans into civilian careers. To find out more about some of the veterans working with us simply click here.
We hope you will join us in celebrating Reserves Day in the UK, by following and sharing our posts on social media.
