PAS 2060 - Carbon Neutrality
About your company
With over 27 years’ experience in energy management and 20 years in full scope procurement reviews, Auditel is now perfectly placed to help its clients measure, manage and reduce carbon emissions in a way others cannot.Auditel help their clients by combining full carbon footprint reporting and reduction planning with deep dive procurement reviews to ensure not only a reduction in Scope 3 Green House Gas (GHG) emissions but also potential cost savings to help fund further carbon reduction projects in the organisation.
Why do you like working with NQA?
We find that NQA’s approach to sustainability and the shared belief in the importance of verified Carbon Neutral means we are very aligned in our values. Our passion and desire to see organisations make a measured and meaningful difference to their Carbon emissions also aligns well with NQA’s commitment and focus to ensure joint clients are verified to a high standard, without compromise.
Top tip for people looking at certification?
The single most important tip we could share for PAS 2060:2014 verification is to ensure you get the baseline footprint or carbon inventory correct right at the beginning of the process. We see a lot of clients who unintentionally take short cuts at this critical first stage, only to find it continues to undermine all future work in emissions management, reduction and final verification to Carbon Neutral status under PAS 2060:2014.What do you find is the most common point of misunderstanding regarding certification or specific standards when visiting clients?
Specifically, for verified Carbon Neutral status (PAS 2060:2014), one of the largest misconceptions we see in clients is that it is impossible to collect all the data required to do it properly. However, we find the challenge to collect all the data required to fully audit Scope 3 emissions is possible. It can seem like a daunting task but when the emission and data mapping is done correctly it makes it easier to properly define the boundaries of the project. Then by blending your emission audit with procurement analysis, a clear and detailed emission audit can follow.
Is there anything else you'd like to let our readers know?
“Don’t try to fix the world, it’s too complicated. But what isn’t complicated, is taking responsibility for your organisation’s carbon footprint!”We all recognise that every organisation in the UK is going to need to take action to reduce carbon emissions and become carbon neutral. Whether it be to satisfy customer demand, qualify for government tenders or just to know your organisation is making a difference, it is a subject which cannot be ignored. This means every organisation taking responsibility for its own Carbon Footprint.
