FSSC 22000 Version 5 has been published!
As previously mentioned in our news article FSSC Response After ISO 22000:2018 Release, FSSC needed to be aligned with ISO 22000:2018 requirements and that’s the main reason for the publication of this new version.
We have written and published some handy tools, including our ISO 22000:2018 Implementation Guide and our ISO 22000:2018 Gap Guide to help you with the transition requirements, visit our food safety toolkit for more details.
FSSC Version 5 requires that all affected certification bodies implement the relevant changes and revise their accreditation scope before January 1st 2020, from then no more FSSC Version 4.1 audits are permitted. Therefore certified organizations must upgrade their system to Version 5 in 2020 through only announced audits, unless you wish to do it unannounced.
Apart from the main document that explains the certification requirements for all interested parties, additional annexes have been also included to highlight which are the acceptable scope statements, the information that must contain the certificate depending on the organization structure and a new audit report template to be followed for Version 5 audits.
In order to get familiar as soon as possible with the new requirements, we encourage you to visit the FSSC 22000 website where, as always, you can download all scheme documents for free: https://www.fssc22000.com/scheme/scheme-documents/
